Read Psalm 20:4
Totally read this Psalm and pray it for those you love. Pray that He will answer them when they’re in trouble and that He’ll protect them (v. 1). Pray that He’ll send help and give them support (v. 2), that He’ll remember all their righteous deeds and sacrifices (v. 3). Pray also that He’ll grant them their heart’s desires and fulfill their plans (v. 4). Once you reach that space go to Psalm 37:4 and add that to your prayer because our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).
That is why Psalm 37:4 is so pertinent, that word delight is the Hebrew, ânag, and it means to be soft and pliable. Essentially, by adding this to your prayer you’re asking that those dear to you will make themselves pliable in the Potter’s hands thereby enabling Him to shape their heart’s desires. When God designs the desire He prospers the plans. Why? Because they’re His and He’s all about fulfilling His will through His people.
Father, we need Your desires to infiltrate our hearts. Fill us with Your Spirit that we might hear Your voice and obey. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
