Read 1 Corinthians 3:1
Actually, go back now and read 2:6-16. It is my hope that since you’re reading this you’ve progressed from infancy and are moving in the direction of maturity. I find though, that so many people claiming the faith are wee-babes. There are people who profess salvation at an early age and have not matured spiritually though they’re significantly older. There are men who are in leadership positions, both in the home and in our “church” settings who are almost wholly unfamiliar with Scripture.
Here’s the thing, we all want to hear God’s voice, right? We all want Him to reveal His plan for our lives, correct? Why then do we ignore the instruction manual? Why do we think that listening to Christian music, attending church and possibly watching (the mostly inaccurate) Christian TV channels will fill us with that knowledge? I bet part of it’s because we’re lazy and the other is because we don’t want God to speak to us, not for real; He might tell us to change some things. If God points you to Malachi 1, there’s a reason! Listen, He only rebukes/disciplines those He loves.
Father, grow us, mature us, feed us with Your Word. Please. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
