Read 1 Corinthians 1:8
I need that verse right now. I feel hugely weak and in many ways, without purpose. I need His strength and His love to sustain because if it were up to me, my muscle (emotional, physical and spiritual), I’d be a crumbled heap on the floor.
I know on Whom I’m to depend and I thank Him that He’s immutable. I add my need for His sustaining power to the promise that I’ll be guiltless before Him and I’m at a loss for words. Surely we don’t know one another’s struggles, let alone our sins, but He knows all of them, even those too heinous to share with your BFF. And, here’s the amazing part, He’s willing to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) and make us guiltless, blameless, without blemish, pure before the Father!
We really need to let that sink in, understand the depth of love that forgives all our transgressions and stop making excuses for continuing in them or accepting that same behavior in our Spiritual Siblings. If we understood His love, nothing in us would want to take advantage of Him.
Father, open our ignorant eyes and make us more like You. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
