Read Romans 8:23
What are you waiting for? What do you get up hoping will happen today? Think about it, seriously, because your answer will reveal great truth to you. Are you groaning inwardly, waiting eagerly for some temporal tangible tidbit? If so (and many of us are) you’re off kilter spiritually, you’re living in the flesh and not the Spirit. Why? Simple, because the flesh desires things that are attached to this world while the Spirit is Kingdom-minded.
It’s really easy to get caught up living in the flesh, insanely easy, because daily distractions, television news or mailboxes devoid of paychecks can draw your attention away from Him. Perhaps it’s time to do a Spiritual wellness check-up on ourselves. Do we want to be like Paul and the other disciples and apostles eagerly awaiting redemption or like the rest of the US eagerly awaiting our tax refunds?
Father, cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Wake us up from this blind slumber of too much flesh. Adopt us into Your Heart and make us focus on Your Kingdom. We ask these things in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.
