I wrote this for a friend but then realized that she was probably not the only one who needed to hear it. So, I have decided to share it with you all in hopes that you might be encouraged…
I understand what it’s like to have your history constantly thrown in your face. I also understand that this is the enemy’s forte and m.o. Consider Paul, he was, no doubt, frequently reminded of how he persecuted the “church.” And, don’t forget that God said He would show Paul how much he had to suffer for his new position in faith.
We will never be free from suffering, but we can be free from our pasts. We can be free from those who work alongside the enemy to prevent us from reaching God’s true intentions and purposes for our lives.
In all honesty, we need no man’s forgiveness for the choices we made because we’ve been forgiven by the Creator of time itself. We’ve been bought with a price, washed in the blood, and our sins are now as far as east is from west. We are clean; no longer in those filthy rags.
We truly can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. But, we’ve got to be willing to cast our cares on Him and unashamedly walk in newness of life. He died to give us that opportunity.
