Read Romans 8:28
So, here’s yet another über familiar verse. It’s one on the top of my “don’t omit the conditions” list. I get really bothered by half quotes and Scriptural placations used more for ear-tickling than up-building and edifying (how’s that for a bunch ‘o’ Christian-ese). That said, please note that the working together of all things for good is only for those who love God and are called according to His purposes. I‘m not sure what translation you’re reading but I noted an interesting word in the KJV that isn’t in the other. That word is the and it happens before called, it makes verses 29-30 a little more intense. If we are the called, not just called, that insinuates there are those who are not part of that group. I could get into a tremendous Scriptural debate here but if you know anything about me, I avoid debates that have no bearing on salvation (unless they’re with my husband and then…well…). Anyhow, I suppose the most important thing about this promise, for it is indeed a promise as all Biblical truths are, is whether or not it applies to you. Are you a member of the called? Do you love Jesus? Yes, I said do you love Jesus because no man comes to the Father (God) but through Christ. Check yourself before you wreck yourself (eternally).
Father, illuminate Your truth. Open our eyes. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
